Cities
During the years that Mesopotamia thrived, many cities rose and fell. Some of these cities include Uruk, Ur, Akshak, Adab, Bibtibra, and Eridu. Each of the cities had a special God or Goddess that they worshipped. For example, the Goddess Ninhursag was especially important in Adab.
Trade
Mesopotamia had very few natural resources therefore, trade was important. Mesopotamians traded with the neighboring countries to get the things they needed to live. Some items traded were grains, textiles, and oils. The things that were received were timber, wine, stones, and precious metals. The mode of travel depended on what was being traded. Grain had the potential to be heavy, and hard to carry therefore it was traded via boat. On the other hand, precious stones were small and easy to carry, so they were transported by donkey or by foot.
